Welcome to Common Chieti, my brand new blog all about Italy, the life, the food, the travel; but mostly concerning the place where I grew up, Chieti. Which is, I must say anything but common, 200 km northeast of Rome lays the ancient city and comune in central Italy. Situated just a few km away from the Adriatic Sea, Chieti rests on the crest of the Pescara River encased by the Maiella and Gran Sasso mountains. Having been spared bombing in WWII due to it status as an Open City, the picturesque history still dazzles any visitor that enters the limits. The only word I can think of to call it, heaven.
