Italy is a favorite place to visit among many people worldwide. This is because it offers diverse attractions, beauty and culture. It impresses just about everyone who steps on its beautiful grounds.

Italy offers brilliant colors, cultural treasures and free spirit. Here you will find many different heritage museums, splendid monuments and vibrant celebrations. There is mesmerizing land that shows all its glory in any season.

This historic country is the home of some of the most famous sculptors, artists and thinkers. There is so much to do and enjoying just one experience is not enough. Whether you visit the magnificent Italian lakes in the Alps and try skiing in Italy, or visit the historical sights in Tuscany, you will be amazed at the breathtaking views. Tuscany is fille with beautiful vineyards and rolling hills. Pisa is well known for its legendary leaning tower. Visit Florence to experience its inspiring architecture and artwork.

The Italians are big on food with pasta being its most favorite. Unlike other places, one does not just “eat”pasta. In Italy, the shape of the pasta is important to Italians. Traditionally, their pasta is eaten with pasta sauce. One of the most common sauces used is the Pasta all’amatriciana which is made with fresh tomatoes and bacon. This sauce is usually served over bucatini pasta.

Salad is not served before the meal, but rather with the meal as a side plate. Cappuccinos are only served in the morning with breakfast. In fact, it is frowned upon to drink a cappuccino after 10:30am in this country.

Bars can be found just about everywhere in Italy. Small cities can have as much as 20 bars or more. Drinking in Italy happens often, especially when meeting a friend. The term “drink something together”is very common in Italy.

These are just a few of the many attractions and cultural experiences that can be found in Italy.

Steeped in history, culture and fine wine and dining, there are plenty of reasons to visit Italy (and not even just because they provide excellent ski accommodation for the traveller who perfers to be a bit more comfortable). Add to that list the stunning natural beauty of one of Europe’s most faceted assets, visitors cannot help but to fall in love with the country renowned for passion.

Stunning scenery is everywhere in Italy, from the picture postcards of the north to the charming countryside and relaxing beaches in the south. And somewhere around the middle, visitors are treated to both. Abruzzo is one of the mist stunning regions in Italy, laying in the centre of the country approximately 50 miles due east of Rome. Blessed with rugged mountainscapes, deep running valleys and pristine beaches along the shores of the Adriatic, Abruzzo is regarded by many as God’s Own Country. Abruzzo is the perfect escape from the rigours of city life where century’s old paths guide visitors through ancient beechwood forests and picturesque castles guard stretches of wilderness.

South of Abruzzo is the quaint region of Molise, a narrow strip of rolling hills and dense, lush forests. Meet the friendly locals that dwell idly in the sleepy medieval hamlets, explore the ancient ruins and enjoy a performance at one of the many Roman theatres. The impressive Roman-Gothic cathedral of San Pardo built into the hillside is a must visit for its charm and fascinating 15th century frescoes. A delightful stroll through the woods to the tiny cave church of Santa Maria delle Grazie is also a humbling experience.

To the east is the breathtaking region of Campania, popular with visitors for the stunning Amalfi coast, the ancient city of tragic Pompeii, the romantic island of Capri and Mount Vesuvius, the volcano looming over the regions capital city, Naples. And despite all that to its credit, the locals even more proud to tell visitors that Campania was the birthplace of pizza. You’ve got to admire the Italians love of food.

When we think about going to Italy we often think about Rome. There are however some beautiful amazing places in Italy that are not frequently visited but offer amazing scenery, great food, and wonderful people. Abruzzo and Molise have beautiful countryside’s that are not often visited. There are dark forests, beautiful quiet valleys, and amazing peaks to see. There is a general peace there. There are not many places in the world where you can view such breathtaking sites and feel the solidarity. Not to mention the culture and the style, some of the worlds top interior designers go to this out of the way location to research the culture and local arts, and bring back inspiration for their next job.

This 3359 square km of mountainous terrain is home to three national parks. There are beautiful free roaming animals here. There are bears and wolves that you will probably not run into but they are roaming free so you may see one in the distance. These amazing mountains offer great possibilities for anyone who loves the outdoors. There are great trails for hiking or mountain biking. For the winter enthusiasts they even have slopes for skiing.

There are some strange customs that you are still able to see in this area. There is something called Cocullo’s. Cocullo’s is a procession of snake charmers that go through the town. There is also a bull-race that takes place in Ururi. You will never be bored in Abruzzo and Molise. There is always something going on and so many great things to see. You can enjoy solitude and relaxation and also have enjoyment from seeing new things and trying new foods. There are great traditional menus for you to try. Visiting Abruzzo and Molise will be a very unique destination filled with excitement. You will be amazed by the architecture and the sights and sounds of the traditional towns. They offer an experience that you will never be able to get if you were to only visit the larger cities.

So many people have asked me why I would write a tourism blog about the place where I grew up. And it is mostly because not enough people (in my humble opinion) know about this little gem of a city nestled neatly between the Maiella and Gran Sasso mountains and the Pescara river. And there is no better tour guide than someone who has lived here their entire lives.

This is also slightly beneficial to myself, as I am trying to perfect my English language skills, so hopefully this blog will not only help others when they are booking their trip to Italy, but it will also help me improve upon my English writing skills.
